Amidst the scorching heatwave,
According to the Electricity Regulatory Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade), last week's average daily electricity consumption reached nearly 947 million kWh, an increase of about 65.4 million kWh compared to the previous week. Specifically, consumption in the Northern region increased by over 31.7 million kWh per day. This surge can be attributed to the ongoing heatwave affecting all three regions, particularly the Northern region.
From the beginning of the year until now, national electricity consumption has grown by approximately 11.2% compared to the same period in 2023, with the Northern region seeing an increase of 11.3%, the Central region 8.5%, and the Southern region 11.7%.
