Two of your social networking applications
 may be gathering a lot of information about you
 — and you may not like what one of them is doing with it. According to a recent report
 released last month by mobile marketing firm
 URL Genius, YouTube and TikTok collect users' personal data
 the most of any social media platform.
According to the report, YouTube, which is owned by Google, gathers your personal data primarily for its own interests
, such as monitoring your internet search history or even your location
 to give you appropriate adverts
. However, TikTok, which is controlled by Chinese internet company ByteDance, largely permits third-party trackers
 to capture your data – and it's unclear what happens to it after that.

TikTok and YouTube did not immediately reply to calls for comment
 from different news sources.
