Phu Quoc Island, off the coast of
 Kiên Giang Province, has welcomed nearly 1,000 foreign tourists after reopening its doors to international visitors with COVID-19 vaccine passports on a trial basis
 for more than 30 days. 
According to the provincial Department of Tourism
, the visitors came from Thailand, the Republic of Korea, Laos, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. The approximately 1,000 foreign tourists included the first group, which arrived in Phu Quoc on November 20, last year, as well as four more groups that went to the island on private planes
.

Kiên Giang is one of five localities to get the green light from the government to welcome back fully immunised tourists
 from November onwards, alongside Quảng Nam, Khánh Hoà, Quảng Ninh and Đà Nẵng. Hopefully others will follow as the pandemic situation easen.
