In the midst of an inquiry into a Covid test kit fraud involving the Viet A tech business, a medicine pricing management officer within the Ministry of Health was detained for suspected power abuse.
Nguyen Huynh, deputy chief of the Drug Administration of Vietnam's pricing control section, is being investigated for "abuse of authority or position in performance of official responsibilities," according to To An Xo, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Public Security.
The arrest was made as part of an ongoing investigation over price increases for Covid-19 test kits at Viet A and other pertinent organizations.
