According to WHO, there were 3.3 million new cases worldwide last week, a 4% decrease from the previous week. The number of deaths declined in most regions, with a global drop of
 16%. However, the number of new cases surged by 45 percent in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, while it increased by 6 percent in Europe.
In response to the aforementioned issue
, governments in several countries are reconsidering epidemic prevention measures
. According to Fortune, health officials in Israel are considering implementing legislation requiring the use of masks in enclosed spaces as the number of Covid-19 cases continues to rise.

Monkeypox is another serious epidemic. On June 23, WHO called an Emergency Committee meeting
 to discuss whether monkeypox should be classified as a "Public Health Emergency of International Concern
" (PHEIC).
